I am packing my stuff to leave Berlin within a few weeks. As I am living out of boxes I can't find any of the 3000 post-it notes i bought at Lidl some months ago. So I am using the b-sides of my old post-it cartoons.

After seven years of abstinence I thought it would be a nice idea to start painting with acrylics again. And I have started painting a wonderful portrait of Axel and am quite proud of it.

But maybe it isn't as good as I thought. A friend came by and wondered who it pictures. I told her it was a picture of Liese.

One of my favourite things to do is to categorize people. On Berlin-Neukölln playgrounds you can find the following groups:

1) the grandmothers

2) the modern mums

3) the monstrous bad guy father

and 4) the supermotivated active fathers who participate in everything and like to talk about their toddler son's diarrhea. (I was too lazy to draw them)

Liese and I don't have any playground friends. I would love to have some girlfriends to play "modern mums" with. It feels so unelitist not to be able to talk about Lieses stool with anyone.

My daughter Liese is, like every toddler, a friend of those small keyring pendant animals that I hate. Have you noticed that the owners of these toys are often or lets say almost always disproportionately less cute than their pendant animals?

More stories about garbage / Things that happened to me this week:

Axel told me to take out the trash when I was leaving for work and then I forgot about it and noticed the garbage bag in my hand when I was waiting for the s-bahn and the owner of the newspaper kiosk at the station wouldn't let me use his waste container, so I had to go back and find another one outside and almost missed my train.

Liese is now two years old. That makes me think of all the things that have changed during these last two years and things we have learned.
As parents we have developed a lot of new fears. And I am not talking about the common "I am not allowed to die" anxieties or any other huge fears.
One of my worst everyday fears is that the condensation water from the lid of the diaper pail could touch my hand while I throw in used diapers. I didn't even know that there was condensation water in diaper pails and I so wish there wasn't any.

Sometimes it isn't that easy to come up with something funny for my blog. This is what happened to me during the last two months. As I have got a new haircut and lost some weight I don't even know how to draw myself any longer. It's as if I have lost all my characteristics (but i a good way). So, if you see a strange looking woman in this blog, it's probably me.

I spent the last few weeks with my parents. One thing I especially love about being home is watching movies with my dad. He needs about 80 percent of the sofa's surface to spread himself all over it and falls asleep after 45 minutes.

Since Liese, now almost 20 months old, has tasted her first olive ("OLLE") she won't eat anything else. Even the glance at the closed refrigerator makes her go completely nuts since she knows that we keep THEM in there.

First, I wanted to do something with this post-it.

Then, I realized that my desk actually looked more like this. It's such a terrible mess. I am good at ignoring it but recently Axel has become more strict, as my stuff has begun wandering over to his desk.

What a fun idea!

Just some days ago, I found out about the statistics function of my blog. Since then I've practically not done anything but sitting in front of my notebook, waiting for more blog visitors. Ha!

Liese can spend several hours listening to her favourite book, an illustrated version of Christian Morgensterns poem "Der Schnupfen" ("The Sniffle"). As I am a mean mother and not willing to sit and read it for her more than 20 times a day I have hidden the book under the bed.

Today I got my new blog! I will draw and write for www.lunamag.de, which is apparently the homepage of a lifestyle magazine for richer parents and their fashionable kids. I am really glad and thankful for this opportunity. Everybody who is a parent and can understand German should visit it here!
